087 – Kane Simms – The State of Conversational AI Heading into 2022

For the last episode of the Future Ear Radio podcast for the year, I’m joined by Kane Simms, founder of VUX World. VUX stands for “Voice User Experience” and there are few people that I know who are more knowledgeable about the voice/conversational AI space than Kane.

As I mention early in the conversation, the reason I’m so fixated on conversational AI is because I strongly believe that one of the big themes in the 2020s will be the natural progression toward interacting with AI in more and more forms. For the world of hearing healthcare, my thinking is that hearing aids and consumer hearable devices will play home to many different types of conversational AI’s, from voice assistants to chatbots, that we’ll conversate for more types of things.

So, that’s why I thought it might be fun to close out 2021 on Future Ear with Kane to break down where things currently stand with conversational AI as a whole and understand where this technology is headed in the new year.
